I know we've lost a lot of photos on this thread, but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this one: American Horse by CC Stotz: He also took this one, which I am familiar with: And this one with his wife (which I hadn't seen either):

I thought we had a thread on him with posts by Ephriam. Anyhow, here are a few I saw on auction sites and elsewhere: Ute Indians gambling - I'm guessing 1890s Cheyenne(?) camp 1893 Yellow Nose, Cheyenne Cheyenne men and boys, 1880s/90s It says, "Mrs Dinero Boy, Cheyenne woman," but on another photo - posted below, the tribal attribution is Apache - presumably Kiowa Apache White Shield and family, Cheyenne (late 80s?) - surely not the White Shield photographed by Hillers... Buckskin Charley - have to say, it doesn't look an awful lot like the Buckskin Charley that turns up in numerous other Ute photos; this seems to be a considerably heavier man Laura Tonadlemah Doanmoe Pedrick Dinero Boy, (Kiowa) Apache Archoop & Johnson, Cheyenne Unidentified, 1891 This is actually by Lenny and Sawyers, not Rodocker - and a google search will also find a Barry photo of Sitting Bull in a Rodocker mount.

It's amazing how closed some minds can be in the face of evidence. While we're at it, while we know Barry worked as a kind of apprentice with Goff, according to Heski, he didn't start until 1878, two years after Bouyer bought the farm. I've never understood the attribution to Barry.

Dear Graham, the photo between your numbers 12 and 13 photos is most likely my Grandmother's grandmother who was known as Cheyenne Belle. Attached is the national archive photo of her and Ada Bent and a second photo with other family members. Thank you for posting this series of photos. Néá'eše Thank you Hi. Thanks for posting this. As I'm sure you know, your top photo, was taken by Cosand and Mosser probably at Fort Reno, Indian Territory (late 1870s-early 1880s). The photo I posted certainly looks like her, so perhaps she was among Little Chief or Black Wolf's people who left Darlington and moved back north in 1881 to settle at (at least for a while) Pine Ridge. Presumably the Baker and Johnson photo was taken when she and her family were visiting Arapaho friends at Wind River.

Curly? Nez Perce Shoto, Shakopee's son(?), 1910 Indians trading in Raton, 1882 Big Wolf and friend, Shoshone Bake and Johnson. The backdrop is the same as some other B&J photos and the handwriting is the same as on the one below. White Horse and... ?

Thanks, Allen. I've just come across a photo of Dog Child, clearly taken at the same location as the men in the tipis. When I checked the Vancouver Archives, found this, which is the complete image I was thinking of (though not the tribe I thought): And from the Vancouver archives, the complete photo featuring the young men and the tipis: Thanks again.

He was also an informant for Densmore's Mandan and Hidatsa Music. Hard to tell, but I wonder if this is him. IT's by Gilbert and I'm guessing from around the same time of the Barry photo:
