I am back again looking for some help regarding my own genealogy According to my dna matches , i have connections to several families
It all suggests that a soldier , either confederate or union served and fought at the tail end of the civil war in south carolina 1865 under general sherman during his campaign . Im showing descendancy from a man who may have been from three to four dif families. Rencountres, renvilles , campbells and possiby crawfords. Ive got kin not just in sisseton, but lower brule and other places as well. I have a tree , and ive also got a gedmatch profile and dna kit. Im related to someone by the last name of wells . If someone can help me determine who this soldier may have been id greatly appreciate it if their schedule allows it. Up until recently i was ready to throw in the towel and give up but to me its unwise. Ive been seaching for 30 yrs.

The last name of Wells is well known in Dakota/ Lakota country.I think he was at Wounded Knee and almost had his nose cut off. I don't have any reference material at hand to give you his first name. Louie Garcia, Ft. Totten, ND
