The Walking eagle family are located in the Crow Hill District on the Spirit Lake reservation (west of Fort Totten city) As far as I know the name arrived perhaps in the 1940's. The Crow Hill district originally were composed of Hunkpati and Yankton. The Cut-heads all left for CannonBall, ND (Standing Rock). The original Walking Eagle band came from Fort Peck,Montana

Yes and there are still some there, my Grandmothers Maiden name is Walking Eagle, her fathers name was Ralph Walking eagle, and his father was James Walking Eagle and his father was Black prairie dog, that’s how I am descendent to Him
What about this picture? The man on left called Black Prairie Dog can hardly be the same man as Walking Eagle aka Black Prairie Dog of the 1888 delegation, because there are 20 years between these photos, or am I wrong? But is he perhaps related?
Sorry for my bad math, but there are 30 years between these pictures. If it´s him in all four pictures, I'd estimate him to be about 60 years old in 1888 and about 90 years old in 1918. Would that still make sense?
Btw, there seem to be some more photos of Black Prairie Dog in the Frank Fiske collection:
