In his new book Sweeney gives 15 names of men that were in Chihahua's group: Chihuahua. Ulzana, Nana, Cathla, Shoie, Nezulkide, Nahdozin, Eskinye, José Second, Seeltoe, Len-see, Ni-losh, Nezegochin, Tisna and Dahkeya and adds that five of them were in their late teens or early twenties... If we compare this with the image posted earlier by Perico...: it is obvious there are some differences. Tisnah is not in the photo, and some names are different... Who is Jose Second? Any ideas?

I try an identification after reading Sweeney's new book.
Picking on the photo : 1 : Cathla (Colle, Kutli) 2 : Nezukilde 3 : Neze-Go-Chin 4 : Kla-Esh (Chihuahua) 5 : Eskinye 6 : Dah-Ke-Yah (Geronimo's son in law) 7 : Lidos-Nigi (José Second) 8 : Kas-Tziden (Nana) 9 : Nah-Dozin 10 : Shoie 11 : Ulzana 12 : Ni-Losh 13 : Len-see 14 : Seel-Toe Tsina was the missing warrior I think. I based my identifications on the describtions of the warriors by Sweeney (age, powerful) ad the written names or not on the photo.
I also prepared a challenge, for all of us, about the 144 Chiricahuas who left San Carlos on may 1885...to be continue.

I think we can be certain of Cathla, Chihuahua, Dahkeya, Nana, Ulzana and that the missing warrior is Tsisnah... for the others, you might be right... your guess is as good as any... Hopefully we can come up with some new facts somehow to make sure we can fix all men with the right names... Btw, looking forward to your challenge...

I found this cropped blow up of the Chihuahua/Nana group in Florida, may be helpful with identifying individual members: the old woman behind Chihuahua, seems tobe Tascenola, wife of Beshe. Behind her, maybe, 2 wihes of Chihuahua. in front, one of 2 older boys could be Dosdotenay.

This is Chihuahua's group on a ferry, going to St Augustine. Feel free to work on the ID's. Nana is fairly obvious. just right to Nana (on his left on the all group photo at Fort Marion), he is the same man I identified as Nezukilde on the warriors' photo . The 4th on the right of Nana is obviously Cathla. The 3th on the left of Nana could be Chihuahua.

Is there anyone here from Mescalero? The names Naiches and Perico caught my attention. All the singers in my group are descendents from the Apaches in these photos.

On the train picture. You guys have it right from L to R is Jasper Kanseah, Yahnozha. I believe the young man below Lozen is David Kazhe. David was born in 1869. Him and Jasper were Geronimo's youngest warrriors. Perhaps the small frame lady next to Lozen is Tah-das-te, married to scout Kuni. She was born in 1860

hello from France and bienvenue Second in our circle. in the 144 challenge's topic, we try to identify the 144 outbreakers on may 1885. It said by the historian Sweeney that your ancestor José Second was part of them. If you can confirm the informations we got and complete (age, family...), we will very glad. Can you identify on the photo fo chihuahua's warrior, your ancestor?
