Thank you... Some names come popping up in Apache history, but they never become more than shadowy, peripheral characters in most history books. For instance, Sweeney in his book on Cochise mentions Natiza, a Nedni leader who was of equal standing with Juh... Also the name Nolgee comes up, a close associate of Geronimo... Perhaps it is good idea to make a list of these names and see what info we can come up with...

Another interesting man is Nahilzay. He broke out with the Chiricahuas in 1881 and was caught by mexican soldiers in an ambush. Nahilzay eventually ended up in a mexican prison in Chihuahua and was never heard from again...

Yes, unfortunately most history books keep repeating the same facts and names, let's hope that Edwin Sweeney in his new book From Cochise to Geronimo comes up with more info about these little known men and women...

Kayitah, I think you could have a good one here! In the known photo Ulzana squeezes his eyes against the sunlight, making a good comparison very difficult. But the nose and the mouth are almost identical.

I think this man is Charley (or As-ka-do-del-ges), Chihenne surviving Victorio's massacre of 1880. He was been scout in the Geronimo Campaign. Attachments:

Can anybody identify who is that first boy from the right of the children group , first left form Besh, please ? That's Alchintoyeh Estichinduntoya/Alchintoyeh — Nednai. Regis Alchintoyeh, age eight or nine. Son of E-jo-nah. First cousin of Sam Kenoi. Died at Apache, Okla., circa 1919-20.
