if anyone is interested and want a slice of ''rez life'' you can listen to KILI RADIO live on the internet. KILI is the rez station on pine ridge, broadcasting from Porcupine Butte. If you have seen the film ''smoke signals'' it is pretty much like that!
you can go to KILI website and listen on line. every morning is powwow and drum music.

this year's Crazy Horse ride completed this weekend with the veteran's powow in Pine Ridge. This annual ride starts with ceremony at Fort Robinson and goes four days, on the third we camp at Crazy Horse's camp on Beaver Creek. Powerful place. The riders enter Pine Ridge and the first major wacipi (powwow) started on Friday and went thru the weekend.
All are welcome to join the ride as riders or helpers and camp with us.

the video i have is part two. it is good but i still don't understand all these people saying they are a direct descendent of Crazy Horse.
CH had one child. She died. End of story.
there is a joke on the rez .... ''Everyone is related to Crazy Horse. We are all Crazy Horse"
the term ''Grandpa'' on the rez is so broad. Most elders are called Grandpa out of respect. The Tunkashilas (ancestors/spirits) literally means ''Grandfathers"
We are all related.

MIYELO (It is me) this is a great idea. i just discovered the other board LBH the other night and was invited here. Such great information. I am Kiktayo Kangi (wakes with crows) on the other site. Prolly should have kept the same name huh? I am the only adopted son of a full blood traditional Lakota elder/headman from Porcupine SD on the rez. my heritage is white irish and chippewa from northern michigan but considered Lakota by the people. I am very much into the history of the great plains and the american west and of course the history, culture and art of the northern plains tribes. Just moved again to MA but am moving back to reservation in August. Please check out our community school on the reservation, we started it ourselves with no help from tribal or federal government (duh) and runs completely on donations. the site is: www.cokantiospaye.com I will be updating the site soon. also i have just finished a film written by my grandpa Eli Tail Sr called Through Lakota Eyes which will be available soon. There are two clips up on youtube.com just put the title in the search box if you would like to view the clips. I look forward to this forum growing, and thank the people who have worked to put this together. WOPILA!!
