Hi Dietmar---can I ask where you found this Mari Sandoz letter? Is there a copy of it somewhere-a photo- of the handwritten letter itself? One of my best friends is a Sandoz and she was his cousin. He has photos and letters she had written him back in the 1960's and i'm sure he would like to see this, especially since he knows Little Thunder's. Thanks for any information.

Hi Graham yes that was me. Sinte is our grandpa's grandpa. he lived and rode with Crazy Horse and is in the surrender ledgers. We believe Cronau met Sinte when he was taken on the Buff Bill Wild West Show. Cronau loved Sinte's drawings as they were different from all the others. We have only seen his drawings in books, and grandpa saw some in a museum in Germany once but we do not own any, unfortunately. Just found another photo of him the other day and wrote the guy who is selling them but he has not written back. the link is here: www.american-indian-artwork.com/american-indian-picture.htmthat is Sinte. The guy asks about who the man is so I wrote him with info and asked him to give us a print but he did not reply. Just so wrong. Thanks for the info and pix of Cronau.

the clowns are clowns. some of the family trees they and others have made are a joke around the rez. the oral traditions, the only TRUE reality and history, are what matters. And those relatives don't go around talking about it or going to court for it or doing dvds about it. They know who they are and where they are from and who their relative and ancestors are. funny how no one here cares, but ''out there'' there is so much speculation and theories. It's like ''Is Elvis Alive?" Crazy Horse is dead and only some know where is remains lie, and not one theory that has been passed around is correct. But have fun! hi Kingsley hope all is well with you!

I have a great pic of Hollow Horn Bear I found the negative in a box at St. Francis Mission....taken in Valentine NE in I think 1902, with his adopted black slave boy...the pic really shows how tall HHB was. How do I post it?

according to people here on Rosebud, Big Mouth and Blue Horse were sons of Smoke. They were all ''hang around the forts" and died from drink. Smoke was 6'4'' and 300 lbs. when he died.
not sure if this is the right post, I am just catching up here haha but Victor told me the other day that there were two brothers, both named Red Fish. Their father was Swift Bear and they had different mothers. Lone Horn was the son of Black Bull, not Black Buffalo. Lone Horn was a brother to old man Crazy Horse.
