thanks so much you guys. I just today asked for Milk's possible Lakota name to look under and sure enough it was Asumpi-duh-which means Milk- but Lionel Bordeaux told me that Milk's name was really ''Good Cane Milk" so I was looking for that. He WAS Oglala but stayed here on Rosebud instead o following Red Cloud to the west when he left here. Kingsley--we are working on this now-''indin time" so let's talk in a couple weeks and I will give you what we got. I am going over to see Vic for some info on all this pretty soon, he knows everything that's for sure. They found a box of negatives in the basement of St. Francis Mission and I am scanning those and taking them to Victor. Some look never before published and some look like Father, um, what his names?? the priest who took photos here they look like they were his, and these could be copies of his negatives. We're not sure yet, but there are some really good photos here. Take care and thanks!

Hey Everyone!
I am wondering if any of you have or can find a photo of Chief Milk who was a Sicangu Lakota man. We are doing a project here on Rosebud on all the communities and cannot find a pic of Milk himself. Any help is very appreciated! Wopila!

hi diane
that is the correct word for owl. She is probably confused because the pronounciation. It is ''Hehan" with a nasal drifting ''N" at the end. So it would sound like '' Hee-hannnn" er, sort of. Not a written language ya know?

Gary...have you looked into the meeting at Bear Butte that was held last summer? I don't know too much but I do know one of the sacred arrows was found and there was a secret meeting surrounding it. I figure it's probably not secret anymore so I can mention it. I think Red Cherries was there and some other guys from N.Cheyenne Tribe.

Spotted Tail is buried here on Rosebud, in Rosebud cemetary. He Dog is buried up in Old He Dog past Parmelee. Fools Crow is buried in Kyle, cemetary out by the tower. Black Elk is buried in Manderson I think by his old cabin? not sure about that one.

Duh. I should just go over and see Victor. I didn't think of that! Thanks Kingsley and Deitmar. The Fool Bull family still lives there near Parmelee. They know alot but I was wondering what you guys may have gathered. I have never seen that second photo so wopila Deitmar! I will print that for them. The last Grandpa Fool Bull gave my friend the name ''Tatanka Hoksila" meaning ''Buffalo Boy" and he gave him the old Fool Bull's walking cane. It is something. We are starting a foundation called ''Tatanka Hoksila" and I was just looking for some more info. I hope you are both doing well and thanks again.
