Yes, I agree that this is most interesting! Upon reading, I noted the following:
I am interested as to who "Fast Horse" is? It being 1928, I am thinking that it's possible that this Fast Horse could have shared historical stories with relatives, inwhich they could have shared these stories with their relatives and being that it's only 2009. There could be some very valuable information available somewhere over there at Standing Rock.

Excellent collection of Oglala Old photo's! I noticed that White Hawk (wife of Big Foot) and Ear of Corn (wife of Lone Wolf) look almost identical. Also, the old photo of Bad Cob reminded me of the late Will Sampson. I think Will Sampson was Creek though?
Thank You HinTamaheca for posting!

I am researching leads that document that Marcellus Red Tomahawk had a son named Barnabas RT inwhich he (Barnabas) had a son named Francis RT who went on to be very well known in the federal court systems of South Dakota. I even have heard that there is either a head statue and/or full bodied statue of Francis in the Rapid City federal building.
Does anybody have confirmation and/or information?

Really? Today, of course our (American Military) have the "Ma Deuce". The only careful about this is to be careful not to be in front of it.

Hau HinTamaheca, Pilamaya yelo! I am looking at these pictures and have all kinds of interesting questions. Such as the 20th picture from the top "Blackfoot Man 1900" I am sure that he has a porky roach on. Yes?
I am always searching for more stories about things like this. 1900! How does it stay on his head? What did he use to keep the porky roach on his head? What inspired this man to have a porky roach? Dreams? Visions?

Hau Diane,
Ohan, I will research the two books you mentioned. I find it interesting that there just "might" be a Red Tomahawk who was documented as Northern Cheyenne.

Jin,
I discovered some interesting information in the following book. "Teton Music and Culture" by Frances Densmore. The majority of it is online through google, though I ordered it via amazon for $40.
It has a really good section regarding societies!
Hau Conz,
Regarding your question "Is "akicita" a direct translation for "warrior?" I would have to say the answer is yes with additional elaboration. " Akicita has multiple meaning. For additiional information, I would suggest speaking with LaDonna, she is very knowledgable. I am sure that you'll admire her to the utmost.

Jinlan,
FYI, I read the chapter. Hau! Very interesting, adds just that much more to thought. Some of what it said was humorous in my opinion. As I had had some thoughts about our modern day situations vs traditional beliefs in societies.
