No mention of Ulzanna here? He was strong and very skilled.
I dont know anything about Miguel Narbonna. This is the first time that i learned he was the leader of Cochise's band, before Cochise took over. Very interesting. I hope that more people will talk about Miguel.

all of them. really when you think about it, the Apache didnt have any bad fighters. they just needed better weapons.

Thank you. I didnt know that there was an alleged "Apache incident" in N. Mexico in 1926. I had never heard of the Fimbres Expedition either. But it sounds like the end of whatever existed down there ... if something still existed. That is 40 years after the surrender of Geronimo. People either die out, or marry into another tribe. OR really, if i think about it, I dont believe that lone Apaches (men) would marry into tribes in Mexico, because those tribes were hostile to the Apache. So the actions of Massai, if the reports are true, are more believable. The Broncos probably led isolated lives until they died out or were killed.

greetings. it is good to see you, my friend. These days I am back in the USA, but sometimes i still go to South America. we are still studying native plants and growing them ... trying to find new medicines to fight cancer.
I was going to ask your opinion about something. There was a discussion about Geronimo, on another thread. I think that most people believe that Goyahkla (Geronimo) was a brave fighter when he was young. It does seem that he ran with his knife and attacked Mexican soldiers, even in the heat of battle.
But you probably also know, there was a book written by Jason Betzinez. He tells a story that when Geronimo was older, he hid during a battle. I always thought that story was strange - it doesnt sound like the real warrior Geronimo. I am skeptical about the story repeated by Mr. Betzinez. But I dont know.
What do you think?

i hope that you will take time to describe your journey in more detail. where did you enter Mexico, what town? How high did you go in the mountains? What were the roads like? Did they let you camp in the Sierra Madre ... did you feel safe being there? I am curious.
best wishes, dT

Georg .. talk to the tribe. Perhaps you can be adopted. Surely the Lakota must have a ceremony for this?
Best Wishes, dT

Thanks for sharing. It would be a really nice gesture if Belgrad transferred this buffalo to the North American tribes. Maybe as a swap ... North American tribes offer a normal healthy buffalo calf, and Belgrad gives the white buffalo in exchange. This would need to happen after the calf stops drinking its mothers milk.

just a simple suggestion. you would do best to actually go to a reservation, introduce yourself, and talk to people there. You would probably get more answers that are helpful.
best wishes, Pete (dT)

Judy Elder Pintar - thanks for sharing. Did George Wrattan ever write any personal memoirs? Did he keep notes of the Chiricahua language?

I have a question - maybe someone can help. The photos show Mescalero Apache with tipi's. Other tribes within the Nde (Apache) used a much simpler house .. made from sticks, branches and mud. Did the Mescaleros use tipis as a normal type of house, or were these photos for ceremonial purposes?
thanks.
