In photos (especially) of the 1870s, we find among the different Lakota tribes a special hair style. Many chiefs and warriors were photographed with an open braid and one wrapped braid. Question: Did this hair style have a special spiritual significance or was it just a fashion? Thanx gregor

The picture that are posted show us that they are still warriors and at war, they came to listen. How you wear you hair tells another what your position is what title you have and most of all what tribe you come from.
