I wouldnt think so either of hand. thinking more of cheyenne river Ironhawk and the names horse shoe come to mind....yes little seems to be oglala but Amos is listed on BIA family tree form as Cheyenne River and the mother of wallace is lizzie post married to Amos Little, Northern Cheyenne connection.
Never seen granpa wallace connected to another womans name till the other day. very interesting. the thing is were he lived and were my father lives now is mostly hunkpapaya decendent names on the allotment. Jumping Bull imparticular. just search and trying to round things out....
There is a story in the family how "Little" came about; One of our grandpas was on a prison boat headed to Ft. Randall prison and him and some others jumped over board swam to shor and came west. first group of Lakota they came into was the Sicangu; old couple there named "little" just lost a son. he stayed with them for a year and helped them and eventually took their name. Prior to this it was Ironhawk/horseshoe yet when i look for info on this it seems to go cold....If you or anyone on this board has anythoughts on this and some leads I sure will appreciate it.

Thanks. Yellow Elk is also known as Maud Little in the allotment, White Clay District Shannon Co. Amos has a different mother, don't know her name. We have "Horse Shoe as father then the mother is left unknown. Son Amos married Lizzie Post-where Grandpa Wallace Little comes from. Amos had a half brother named Miles Little mother being Maud Little AKA Yellow Elk, Miles has 2 sons; Thomas and Ernest.
Amos later married Emma No Water, there is a half sister named Lucille (gramma lucy) to Granpa Wallace Little.
The Anthony Wallace Little you have listed is the son of James Norman Little (died in Oglala in 1975) and Yvette Two Bulls, Tony has we called him died in 1985. Yvette is the older sister to Teresa Two Bulls former Oglala Sioux Tribe Chairwoman....James Norman Little is my fathers older brother.
One other name appears; "Medicine Taker" according to a relative i am communicating with this was listed at one point (they didnt say where) at the wife of "ciqala", maybe this is the mother of Amos Little. Cheyenne river records I guess.
No chance that the Ironhawk in the rain in the face band is "ciqala"? be kinda young for him and to old to be Amos Little. although a head stone in the family cemetary referes to amos being born around 1886 (not his headstone but a marker on one "son of" etc...)
any more you can find i would love to see it....
Wopila Tanka Iciciyep....

Cankpeopi, you can find a Pine Ridge allotment map here: www.lakotalands.net/prlis/#14/43.5039/-102.9409Just click on "Original Allotments" on the right side menue. You find Sitting Bull Family members on the western border of Pine Ridge. Here an example: Standing Holy aka Mary Spotted Horse with her spouse Urban Spotted Horse or Sitting Bulls widow Four Blankets with her son Deaf and Dumb. There are other family members around. Grey Eagle does not seem to be a name frequently heard here on Pine Ridge, only Grey Eagle I knew was a robert grey eagle and he passed away about 8 years ago, prior to passing he was known as Robert Fast Horse. There is a grey eagle society down here in Pine Ridge but it seems its more of an elders society, think tank type of group.

I just came across Arby Little Soldier, a 4th generation descendent of Sitting Bull ( www.whitebuffalomovie.com/). I assume he is related to Sitting Bull's adopted son, Akicita Cigala. But I can't quite place him on the family tree. Can you enlighten me, LaDonna?

oh....great....and the hunkapa CetanMaza is the one under the Rain In The Face band? was this one put on a prison boat at anytime and sent south toward Ft. Randall. One oral story in the family states that one of our grandpas named Iron Hawk was on a prison boat headed down the missouri and him and some other young men jumped out to their escape.....
Thanks for the above leads.....
