Hello. I found there were at least, am not certain, but at least 12 Wahpeton villages in 1862. Someone correct me on this lol...... So I will post each village and number it along with this message. So, someone jump in and help me out. I will post them like...Village 1. or Village 2. with the name of the leader of the people. So, here goes.
Mazasha - Red Iron. His Village was near Iron Walker. He was said in many reports to be a Sisseton and others a Wahpeton. But his brothers, Iron Walker and Red Day were Wahpeton.
Lean Bear or Lean Grizzly Bear was also said to be the main headman or leader 2nd in Red Iron in this village.

Wenona, daughter of Chief Red Iron, at Fort Snelling prison compound (from Curtis A. Dahlin´s book) Red Iron aka Sounding Iron - a brother to Iron Walker, Mazamani and Akipa - a Sisseton, whose village was located on the south side of the Minnesota River, near the mouth of the Chippewa River - he opposed the uprising in 1862 - he died 1883 or 1884 on the Sisseton-Wahpeton reservation
