Hello. I found there were at least, am not certain, but at least 12 Wahpeton villages in 1862. Someone correct me on this lol...... So I will post each village and number it along with this message. So, someone jump in and help me out. I will post them like...Village 1. or Village 2. with the name of the leader of the people. So, here goes.
Mazamani or Mazomani - Iron Walker or Walking Iron. Was a brother to Iron Walker (I forgot to put that in the Iron Walker post) and Anpetusha - Red Day.
His village was located near the present site of the Camp Release monument. Also, only had about 30 people in it. He was killed at Wood Lake in 1862 during the fight. He took over leadership for Big Walker as leader of this Band. Lean Bear was a headman in this camp.

Mazamani aka Iron Walker aka Walking in Iron: - brother to Akipa and Red Iron - headed a Wahpeton village located on the south side of the Minnesota River in the vincinity of present-day Montevideo - member of the 1858 delegation to Washington - protected whites in the 1862 Uprising - he died in the Battle of Wood Lake, trying to stop the fighting by going out with a white flag, killed by a cannon ball
