Does anyone have any sort of information about Vincent Brings, a Montana photographer, probably from the Billings Area? There are some great photographs of young Crow people taken by him and I wonder if there are more.
Unfortunately that name "Vincent Brings" is anything but helpful for a Google search, as I get all sorts of documents about som "Vincent" who "brings" something! Ever tried searching for "Adobe" or "Western Art"? You get hundreds about "Photoshop" and tens of thousands of entries on European art.

Hi Tipifan, I'm all but sure about this, but could it be that this Vincent Brings was related to William J. Brings, who had photographic studios in Hardin and Laurel in the early 1900? There's a collection of his (William Brings') photos in the Montana Historical Society Research Center. nwda-db.wsulibs.wsu.edu/findaid/ark:/80444/xv93981#c01_1Hope this helps,

Thank you very much for your quick reply!
It appears that Vincent Brings was the son of the photographer William J. Brings who also provided the biographical information on his father for the MHS collection data. This archival record sheds a lot of light on important and interesting background data of the few Brings photos that I know -- not many, but among the finest pictures of young Crow people around the earliest 1900s.
Thanks a lot!!!

Brings was a Crow who took a few photos as only a few have ever been found. They are good photos just not a lot of them. Henri

William J. Brings was a first-generation American, his parents immigrated in 1860 from Germany. When you click the link given by jinlian, you get a pretty detailed biography.
