A friend of mine is hoping to spend a short time on a Crow, Cheyenne or Lakota reservation experiencing if possible, some facets of their traditional way of life. Do any of you posters know if this possible and if so, how it can be arranged? Thank you.

What do you mean by "traditional way of life?"

Hin, I understand she wants to experience some insight into what was the nomadic way of life of the Plains tribes.
ladonna, yes, a day or two in a tipi if possible, but with some instruction on your culture.
It is difficult to know exactly what another person's requirements are in this context, but having questioned the lady earlier today, I believe I have answered you both as accurately as I can. Thanks to you both for your interest.

Hin, thank you for the information. I have passed the four websites over to the lady concerned so that she can now make her own choices. She is a very spiritual person and sincere, not by any means a wannabe, so I am sure she will make a journey to the U.S.A. next year as planned, probably to Pine Ridge.

if she is going to pine ridge she can stay at rosie's place-Singing Horse Trading Post in Manderson. She has tipis and horses, beautiful landscape, close to Wounded Knee. She is welcome to sweat at Grandpa's, he welcomes anyone who wants to pray into his sweats. He is in the hills in Porcupine. Many sweats around there too. Rosie can give her good info.

Good advice regarding Hunkpapa's friend. I have lived in PineRidge and when I return I will make a point of looking you up. Private joke; so long as the friend steers clear of Mr & Mrs Hand (u will no doubt no to whom I refer) she should be ok. The Lakota are a very loving and friendly nation and they enrich everyone who is privileged to visit them.
