This photo of an unidentified Southern Cheyenne man is in the latest Cowans' auction; it's credited to Christian Winkler at Fort Sill and was, presumably, taken in the early 1870s.
Edit: Wolf Lying Down, second chief under Lone Wolf, Kiowa.
I haven't been able to find out more about Winkler, but I wonder if this is by him as the backdrop is similar. It was originally identified as Big Talk, a Lakota, on an auction site (Cowans, I think), but Dietmar pointed out that it is Lone Wolf, the Kiowa leader and I noted that his jacket/shirt seems to be the same as that worn by Woman's Heart when he was photographed by Soule. Again, there's no date, but it must be before 75

Woman's Heart
Another photo with a similar backdrop and clearly taken around the same time features Satanta, Lone Wolf (here with his hair styled similar to the way he wore it in Washington for Gardner's photo) and Big Tree:

On the other hand, when I Googled Winkler, I came across this photo of Big Tree (at www.dsloan.com/Auctions/A22/item-big_tree-letter-1895.html), thought to date from 1874:

The only other photo I found was this one of a baby at Fort Sill:
It's hard to tell, but it looks like it may be the same backdrop as the photo of Big Tree, above.
The interesting thing about this is that the backdrop is not the same as the others; in fact, it is the backdrop found in photos by W. P. Bliss, who, I've read, started work at Fort Sill either a) after Soule left, possibly as early as 1874, but definitely by 1878 or b) worked there from 1873-5!
Here's a photo of the Comanche, White Eagle, credited to Bliss:
Bliss also worked out of doors - Kiowa Apache men:
In the grand tradition of Western photographers, of course, it's possible - if not likely - that Bliss may have acquired some of Soule's work and sold it under his own imprint.
Anyone know more about Winkler or Bliss?
