Heritage Auction "Cheyenne Ledger Painting"

It's a muslin painting, not a "war ledger." Unlike any Cheyenne artwork I've ever seen so any help with other examples of such depictions is appreciated.

A few things I find interesting.

The artist has been at pains to depict some of the moccasins with a fringe down the vamp, as seen on Comanche and Kiowa moccasins (and those worn by the Pawnee after they moved south) although also in some museum specimens, Southern Cheyenne.


Those short shirts with the beaded band around the bottom aren't something I'd normally associate with the Cheyenne. They're kind of like the shirt worn by Ouray the Ute leader in several photographs

That type of horned bonnet worn by two of the men at the left reminds me of this one worn by Silverhorn in this painting by EA Burbank:





Note the man drawn - but not painted - at 90 degrees to the other figures:


And finally, is this a partial moustache, the kind seen on some Kiowa photographs in the 1860s and 70s? Of course, it might just be a mistake...
