Fog In The Morning was an alternative name for Red Streak Across His Face. He was ostracized from Crow society for stealing a horse from fellow Crow warrior White Man Runs Him (of LBH fame) during a raid, leaving him for dead and lying about it. White Man Runs Him lived and stole about two dozen head from the Lakota horse herd before heading home and exposing Fog In The Morning.

The link between Fog In The Morning and Red Streak Across His Face comes from correspondence with Little Bighorn College. Curtis notes that Fog In The Morning was born in 1858, which is the same year White Man Runs Him was born, and that he never gained a war honor. He could therefore not have been a war leader as claimed in the White Man Runs Him book--if Fog In The Morning and Red Streak Across His Face were indeed the same individual.
This is Curtis' bio of him:
FOG IN THE MORNING "Shiwasedish" -Apsaroke Born about 1858. Mountain Crow; Not Mixed clan; Lumpwood organization. Never won an honor. After the death of his son he fasted many times until at length he had a vision after which he claimed "White Man Above" as his medicine, also Thunder. Thereafter he gained considerable property, and his success being attributed to his medicine, he derived some fame-and more property-as a dispenser of good luck.

I dug a little deeper... According to the Crow Census (1885/1900/1910) Fog In The Morning was born around 1850, so he was about 8 years older than White Man Runs Him. There is no record of a Red Streak Across His Face.
Not conclusive, but I do agree that Fog In The Morning and Red Streak Across His Face are indeed the same person. My hunch is that he was the war leader of the raid but that he lost this honor because of the incident and never gained another war honor again, as Curtis noted.

Thank you for the research alot of my research comes from oral history there are still many descendents I would like to speak to and see if there's any other info.with your help I got more of a picture who he was. One story is he started ranch above st x. By twins buttes when reservation days were starting built a bridge over Beauvais creek with rail road ties dismantled from the old railroad track from Hardin to Pryor would charge ranchers a beef to cross with herds but you didn't want camp there he was known to switch wagon wheels on you or lead your horse some where else in hopes you'll leave it with these shady behaviors they said he always had a Winchester next to him which he obtained scouting In the short bannock campaign
