Hello to you all! I am hoping some of you may be able to help me with my research into the breakdown of the Oglala tiyospaye present at the LBH in june 1876.in Gray's book the centennial campaign it is estimated that 240 lodges of oglala were present in the camp circle. The non-treaty Hunkpatila under Crazy Horse, Iron Crow, Little Hawk and Standing Bull were of course the core of the Oglala camp circle along with Big Road and his non-treaty Oyuhpe's and also He Dog and the Soreback's. The non-treaty bad faces had been led by Black Twin until his sudden death in January 1876, do we know what became of his tiyospaye? Who took over after his death? I have read he had a brother called White Twin but i understand he was also dead by this time. Presumably these non treaty Bad faces joined Crazy Horse at the LBH. Have we any other information on various Oglala tiysopaye that were present, many must have come from Pine Ridge to swell their number. Can we breakdown the lodges into leaders, tiysopaye and possibility lodge numbers? Many many thanks David Derbyshire, UK.
