This might be long But I'll do my best here ,
I've been coming on and off proboards since 2014 submitting inquiry about my grandmother's claims that we were santee from out of south Carolina. Of course people were suspicious of my mention of a state miles away from original Dakota territories . And for a while like most of my genealogy I simply placed on the shelf , as of December 5th I took an ancestry DNA test and got my results and uploaded my raw data to gedmatch genesis . After reviewing many matches from all across the nation , for fun one night I typed in the name of renville in the search box. And sure enough I got a hit for someone from sisseton wahpeton, this young woman was listed as an estimated fifth cousin . So I do another search for both south Dakota and Minnesota and I was blown away. I find another match this time not just in sisseton but in Oklahoma with ties to the Bigtalk, Stead and Secondine families. Secondine being another name that repeats itself attached to trees for my matches. Now these can be taken many ways. And I'm aware of that, but there are some things I'm just not understanding here , early on as I posted on proboards, I mentioned my grandmother's account of her telling me that our family in times before were santee. Two words in the language came to me. One was santee if I could not pronounce the more proper " ihsanti " and the word " wopina " which my grandmother said meant " thank you " the question remains " how did a woman of heavy African American blood so far southeast know these words ? Her grandmother Rachel was born in south Carolina along with a sister named Pleasant Davis. And strangely. I cannot find their parents anywhere in the area as they were raising families of their own ,, 22 children is the number of children my great grandmother had between her and Adam Singleton. Also native American and a Creole who was said to descend from a Joseph Solomon Singleton. An atakapa Indian or suspected houma nation tribal member circa 1817 married to a woman known only as " Begay " Again going back to the DNA matches , I begin finding family throughout Minnesota. Fargo nd and morehead Minnesota. And Hennepin county . Relatives all over the place. The young lady in sisseton showed tree surnames of people that I've actually met over the past four or five yrs or so since I've been going there to observe certain things. It was my hope that in posting here today , that people might pass this around and look it over and make a decision whether to help me establish this ancestry once and for all. In my mind the account given to me by my grandmother was just a tall tale and prob best left be. But this new data and new info flowing in has dragged me right back and researching prob harder than I ever have. I can't explain these connections anymore than a person can explain molecules and how they work. So, i will post my kit and profile numbers here for Gedmatch in the hopes that someone will take a look at in and investigate this further and helping me to establish quite possibly even more family connections. This to me mirrors the story of another man from south Carolina. ( i was born in NYC) who did the DNA thing and actually found family in another part of south Dakota like I have recently. So without making this any much longer here is my gedmatch kit and profile numbers
My kit number JE1452981. And my profile is 833974 my email is daviscraig1971@gmail.com
I bid everyone here good day and I really hope this works as I do not understand how to map data
