I am trying to find information on the identity of this Native American Chief? I purchased the picture and some other items at an old barn sale this summer in New Hampshire. As far as I can tell it is a framed pencil sketched print. It is very old (at least 80 years, as many of the items at the sale were 80-100+ years old). Measures about 8 1/2” x 10 1/2”. I have looked through hundreds of photos! At first I thought it might be Blackfoot Chief Long (High) Feather. His feather is right and his hair length and thickness is right, but I have not seen any images with it wrapped this way nor have I seen any images of him in this dress. Then I thought maybe Cheyenne Chief Wolf Robe, as they share some similar facial features. However, his hair is different (not as long or thick) and I have not seen any images with him wearing this dress, particularly this detailed breastplate and I don’t believe the artist would have just “created” it. He had to be going from an actual image. It has a similar look to the Crow with multiple layered beads strands, but the “medallion” is more indicative of other tribes, although it is not an Indian Peace Medallion. The emblem on his “scarf” (a bird?) may be a clue? Also, on the necklace it appears the artist may have written their name (or maybe the Chief’s?) but I can’t decipher it! Again, I got it in New Hampshire, but I don’t think he is from a Northeastern Tribe? Although it has some water damage, I love the look of it! It has some paint chips and dirt under the glass, but I do not want to take it apart as I feel it may destroy it. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! (The last picture is the image after I “cleaned it up” in my Photo program)

I don't think this represents anyone particular. The painter likely drew this off a postcard from a known photograph of Wolf Robe of the Southern Cheyenne and enhanced it to his own liking - I would guess its the one by photographer Frank Rinehart - the pose/profile one can almost trace one-on-one, the accouterments in your print were simply added to make it look more "native". By the way adding the "do not copy" onto your print seriously was unnecessary.
