I got this request from a website visitor: Hello
I wonder if you can tell me more about Iron Star – Lakota, spent time in Canada with Sitting Bull, fought in the Souix wars, lived at Standing Rock, Oak Creek and died about 1915.
I am interest in learning as much as I can about his life – birthyear, did he marry? If so, family and children.
I notice that there is a George Ironstar, listed as a member of the Indian police force, who was one of the scouts who delivered the arrest letter for Sitting Bull to Major McLaughlin. I assume this is a different person, but I would really like this confirmed.
Anything you can tell me or any photos, or any surviving family history would be much appreciated
ThanksDo we know anything about Iron Star? This is a portrait of Iron Star taken by Frank Fiske in 1906, according to the State Historical Society of North Dakota. He might be a younger relative of Iron Star.
