In his biography by Thomas Mails, Frank Fools Crow (ca. 1891-1989) states that his father was named Eagle Bear, but was also known as Fools Crow (properly Crazy Crow), a second name given to him by his father Knife Chief. However, in an interview in Hardorff's Indian Views of the Custer Fight, p187, it states that Eagle Bear lived with his brother Fools Crow, and to further complicate matters, Hardorff notes that this was probably Frank Fools Crow. The interview was from an unidentified 1936 newspaper. I propose that the interviewer was either misinformed or just wrongly assumed that the other man living with him was his brother, when it was most likely his son Frank.
So Frank Fools Crow lineage is:
father: Eagle Bear aka Fools Crow (b. ca. 1860) mother: Spoon Hunter (d. ca. 1891) adopted mother: Emily Big Road
paternal aunt: Runs For Hill, married Iron Cloud paternal uncle: Thomas Steals Horses (b. 1876)
paternal grandfather: Knife Chief (b. ca. 1837) paternal great-grandfather: Holds The Eagle
maternal grandfather: Porcupine Tail -----
Any additions would be welcome.

Hello Carlo,
thank you for the informations. I can´t contribute really to it, but noticed the Name of his mother "Spoon Hunter", I think this is a Family Name among the Northern Arapahoes. Prominent and respected Family of that tribe I think to remember. Any Information that you would have perhaps, that there is an Arapaho connection in the Family of Frank Fools Crow thru his mother ?
Thanks, chicheman

remember a name of an individual of a band or nation does not mean they are related to another individual with that same name. remember first and last name for native [people did not become law until late 1890s to 1900s or people who were christianized.

Thanks Ladonna ! I just noticed the Name and thought there could maybe be a Connection, just was curious. But you´re of course right with what you said, there must not be a relation necessarily. Guess you would have found out if there was, as you have many sources. Thank you.
