That picture is also a "first camp" picture from 1894.

Bryon, have heard of you, the grandson of Phyllis and yes we are related......we are ALL related.....has always been so. Therefore we have the responsibility to have "Mutual Respect" for one another. That has not always been easy....given our people's past and history......but we are one......related as we are......is like one large family......in which respect is "a must". This forum is very important: Good photo's....Good questions and answers....Good identifications and information....even Good opinions......calling for respect and decent attitude among us all. There are several N'de/Apache here: besides you and I, there is my "CUZ" (a very good and Knowledgeable man) and Enjady....Gooday.... and even Leland from time to time. I only wish there were more of us here, because what we all say and do on this forum may someday......50,....or even 100 years from now.....be of great recorded reference and information to all N'de/Apache decendents in the future!!!! Hey Mithlo, I'm guessing we are related somehow. I'm descended from Harry Perico. I just posted the correct identifications. In this well known photograph, I have never seen but a few Identified. I will attempt to ID all of them to the best of my knowledge. Remember, I might not be completely correct on all of them, so if anyone has a different opinion or idea, I'm open to suggestions. Note: I believe the photo to have been taken around early 1929. Back: Mason Kawaykla, James Nicholas, "possibly" = Harold Kawaykla, Lawrence Mithlo, John Loco, Jason Betzines, Lot Eyelash, and Quinton Eyelash. Middle: James Kawaykla, Dorothy (Naiche) Kawaykla, Nah-thlet-la, "possibly"= Marion (Juan) Loco, Bessie (Hunlona) Gooday, Talbot Gooday. Front: "All possibly" Minnie (Nicholas) Zurega, Mary Zurega (Cripps), Evangeline Zurega (Chappabitty), and Benjamin Zurega Jr

Hugh Chee (on horseback) in the winter of 1894? Chee was still at Carlisle until Nov. 7, 1895. Also, Spitty was still married to Zah-nah in 1894 and yet he and wife Clara Belle Spitty are identified as the couple on the far left. Clara Belle's record here states she was born in 1885, meaning she was only 9 or 10 years old in the winter of 1894-1895. Yes.... she did indeed marry Spitty at a young age....but not THAT young. ;D (The photo is years later than1894). How about it? Hugh Chee on horseback, David Chimney is second from the left. I can't recall any other's.

I remember that being identified as David Kazhe. I referenced the Pictorial History books put together and the "first camp" photos are taken in the winter of 1894 and 1895. I'm going to check out that fort sill book and see if thats where he is identified as David Kazhe. I'm sure you are also using the antecedents document as reference as well? Yes Phyllis is my Grandmother. If you don't mind me asking, who's your folks?
