Anyone know why the Miniconjou chief Black Bull / Black Buffalo was listed as Sicangu by Lewis & Clark?
Just another mix up by them, or is there another explanation? Eg. were "Partisan" and Buffalo Medicine both Sicangu or also Miniconjou? They were the three headmen encountered by Lewis & Clark at Bad River in 1804, apparently living in the same camp.
Thanks, Carlo
