Thanks to Barbara (akhummingbird) for the following information about the location of John S. Gray's notes:

They are kept in the special collections of the Newberry Library in Chicago...about 27 boxes of meticulous notes. I only had 2 hours to go through one folder on my great great grandmother Eagle Woman That All Look At/ Mrs. Galpin and was in awe of his notes. I hope to return someday and spend more time.
