I always enjoy reading books about Native American History. I am not an author. However, I am a researcher.

Iron Eyes Cody was born Espera or "Oscar" DeCorti, the son of two first-generation immigrants from Italy. In 1924 he moved to California, changed his name from "DeCorti" to "Corti" to Cody, and started working as an actor, presenting himself as a Native American. He married an Indian woman, Bertha Parker, and together they adopted two Indian sons, Robert and Arthur. Iron Eyes Cody lived and worked as an Indian for all his adult life; he labored for decades to promote Native American causes, and was honored by Hollywood's Native American community in 1995 as a "non-Native" for his contribution to film.

He is what gets me. Remember "Iron Eyes Cody"? He said he was Cherokee and Cree. However, he was Italian. Elizabeth Warren kind of did the same thing.

A Cherokee woman joined Jesse Watters to criticize Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) for refusing to back down on her claim of Cherokee ancestry.
Watters said Warren was recognized by Harvard University as their first minority female faculty member after the 68-year-old applied to the job as a Native American.
"As a mixed Native woman, I get to relive the stereotypes that Warren perpetuates every day," Rebecca Nagle of Oklahoma told Watters.
"I'm not 'part-Cherokee', I am Cherokee," she said. "[We're] not bit fractions of imagined Indians that used to exist. [Warren should] take responsibility for her false claim."
Watters pointed out that Trump too has called out Warren for claiming Cherokee ancestry.
"I call her Pocahontas, and that's an insult to Pocahontas," he recently said. "She's a hopeless case."
However, Nagle also criticized Trump for using Pocahontas' name in a political discussion, saying that the Powhatan princess is not the Disney character many people know.
She said Pocahontas was kidnapped by English settlers and died at 21.
Warren's senatorial election opponent, Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai (I-Mass.), who is an immigrant from India, has played off her claims, calling himself the "real" Indian in the race.

Senator Elizabeth Warren Addresses Heritage and Comments to Indian Country at the National Congress of American Indians 2018 Winter SessionWASHINGTON, D.C. | Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) took the stage today to share remarks at the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) 2018 Executive Council Winter Session (ECWS) addressing her heritage, recognizing tribal sovereignty, and committing to uplifting the stories of tribal communities. Warren addressed the over 500 Tribal delegates about her heritage and made her family history clear – that her family members are not on any rolls, and that she is not an enrolled member or citizen of a tribe – but a descendant of a tribal community. “And I want to make something clear. I respect that distinction,” said Warren. “I understand that tribal membership is determined by tribes — and only by tribes. I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead. I never used it to advance my career.” Then, she made a promise. “I’m here today to make a promise: Every time someone brings up my family’s story, I’m going to use it to lift up the story of your families and your communities,” said Senator Warren. She went on to discuss stories she will uplift, including stories of missing and murdered Native women, the health care divide, tribal lands and natural resources, historic monuments like Bears Ears, access to capital and credit; and infrastructure and access to rural broadband. “In addressing NCAI, Senator Warren addressed the world, and we are deeply honored by the courage she showed today,” said NCAI President Jefferson Keel. “We appreciate her candor, humility, and honesty, and look forward to working with her as a champion for Indian Country.” Following the Senator Warren’s remarks, the NCAI Board of Directors, and NCAI Tribal Delegation rose to a standing ovation. Senator Warren’s written remarks are available for download here. To download the raw video footage please click here. For press requests and inquiries, please contact NCAIPress@ncai.org.

This is a book about Chief Cochise and Geronimo. Mickey Free started the war called the "Bascom Affair", and ended it with Chief Geronimo. It started in 1861 and ended in 1886. Attachments:
