Hello. I found there were at least, am not certain, but at least 12 Wahpeton villages in 1862. Someone correct me on this lol...... So I will post each village and number it along with this message. So, someone jump in and help me out. I will post them like...Village 1. or Village 2. with the name of the leader of the people. So, here goes.
Akipa - Meeting.
His Village was also about the agency.

Joseph Akipa Renville aka The Meeter, 1858 Joseph Akipa Renville aka Meeting aka The Meeter: - a full-blood, who later was given a white man's name and called Joseph Akipa Renville, and who was always prominent in the councils of his tribe - he headed a Wahpeton band living near Yellow Medicine river near Upper Sioux Agency - brother to Mazamani and Red Iron - father of Charles R. Crawford - stepfather to Susan Frenier Brown and Gabriel Renville - he opposed the killing of Whites in 1862 Uprising - he died at Sisseton Agency, South Dakota, in 1891 Akipa
