Sewing Bag, Lakota, cowhide, beading combination of turquoise blue, black, red/white hearts and white beads sparingly used along the edges and the flap. The bag has some older mends to the hide. Inside are found the original contents including a piece of calico, a piece of shell, a pearl bulb, a token, a tin for polish with old contents, token with very fine rockery engraving, 2 bundles of animal fascia used as sinew for sewing. 1860’s/1870’s, compare Warren Collection, Smithsonian/NMNH Provenance: James Compton Gallery, Santa Fe, NM click onto image to enlarge
