Descendants of "Lizzie" Lodge-in-Sight, daughter of Sitting Bull by Four Blanket Woman. "Lizzie" Lodge-in-Sight was married ca. 1897 at Pine Ridge Reservation to Scares who was later known as Friday Scares. She had one daughter, Jeannie born in 1898. "Lizzie" Lodge-in-Sight died in 1900 (she was still listed on the 1900 census, but not on the 1901 census). She would have been approx. 25 years old at the time of death. On the several photographs that exist of Her-Lodge-in-Sight, all dated January 1891 and by photographer David Francis Barry, one can see that the iris of her right eye was opaque indicating that she might have been blind in one eye. After 1901 Friday Scares remarried to Susan Pretty Weasel and had several children by her who later would use the surname Friday-Scares of Fridayscares. Her daughter Jeannie Scares gave birth in 1921 to a daughter [father's name not known] who would be known as Julia Fridayscares. The child died in 1934 at the age of 13. In about 1926 Jeannie married Reuben Bear Robe, an Oglala and they lived in the southern portion of Pine Ridge Reservation near the border with the state of Nebraska. Jeannie and Reuben had 3 sons, Raymond Reuben, Wallace and Reuben Jr. - the latter died in infancy. Wallace served in the Korean war and got killed by a train in East Saint Louis, Illinois [possibly a homicide]. He was 31 years old. Raymond Reuben Bear Robe married Minnie Frog and the couple had two daughters. click onto image to enlargeLodge-in-Sight's descendants, click onto image to enlargeor click on this link for a PDF descendant chart: Lodge-in-Sight descendants.pdf (45.4 KB)
