I am enrolled with the Chickasaw Nation tribe. I am Chickasaw/Choctaw, Cherokee, and one DNA test I took even said Native American Florida.
My 4th Great Grandparents are Chickasaw to my knowledge and their names are:
Schicktokike and Fuletike
2 Chickasaw Elders have told me Fuletike meant "In the Wind" in Chickasaw.
These two are my Great Great Grandmother's, who was an original Chickasaw Enrollee's, mother's parents. Her mother was a Johnson.
My Great Great Grandmother's father's mother, was a Perry. Her parents (my 5th Great Grandparents) were named:
Ibah-Fon-Quah-Tubby Perry and Co-Sho-Hock-Ty (Jefferson) Perry
I found a document on Geni.com about Ibah-Fon-Quah-Tubby and it said he was a Choctaw ball player.
I cannot trace any ancestors past these names in my family trees on Ancestry.com or Geni.com (MyHeritage.com)
If anyone could translate what these tribal names could mean or how they may be pronounced, I would be grateful for any help.
