Really enjoy the boards! esp BBear (for now).
Hoping you may can point to John Boyd
who married Jennie, daughter of Joseph Bissonette and his Ogalala wife Tasunkawastewin, aka Julie Hebert.
1. Who was/is John Boyd & where did he go/what happened to him. Is there a story or more info?
(John Boyd. B. abt 1845. at unkn. Died abt unkn, at unkn). He disappeared after 1876. GrGrnPa!
2. Was/is Tasunkawastewin a sister to Bear-Robe & White Butterfly. (Ltl Wound, et al). GrGrGrnMa!
John Boyd married Jeannie Hogan, (aka Virginia / Jennie Bissonett, B. 22 May 1852, at Deer Creek?).
They had two children: Maggie, born 1874 and John Boyd Jr, born 1876.
Both Baptised 30 Mar 1879, at Church of Jesus, (have copy), (Margret Memorial, Rosebud Agency, DT)
John Sr & Jeannie divorced or separated by some means after 1876.
(Jos Biznet may have been on west bank Little White Clay Creek on White River, during this time).
Jeannie married Antoine Dubray 14 Apr 1879, at Church of Jesus, (Margret Memorial, Rosebud Agency, DT)
Jeannie's parents listed on the marriage record (shows Virginia) are:
Joseph Bissonette (b. 1814), and,
Tasunkawastewin (Julie Hebert or Hurbert, b. abt 1820).
(Jos Bisnet, 1877/8, resided at Wounded Knee Crk, a freighter to/for PR).
BEAR ROBE (dau of Bull-Bear), was born abt 1825. Died abt 1846. (Henri Chatillion ), had a daughter, Emilie.
Emilie apparently lived with Jos & Her-Good-Horse until married to B. Lessert.
Tasunkawastewin is Bear Robe's sister?
WHITE BUTTERFLY. (1818-1897?). Presumed to be Bear-Robe's sister or half-sister, Emilie's Aunt.
In 1892 "White Butterfly" joined Emilie's family census until 1897.
(So far, I see 10 Bull-Bear children, and read there may be 30, Is someone compiling the list?).

Stuff I've found:
1. (Per John Hunton. (Ft Laramie).
1867. "John Boyd, Hopkins Clark and myself, occupied the bunk room in the sutler's store"..."Bridger stayed here too, until April 1868. In Oct, Jim Bridger arrived from Fort Phil Kearney for R&R".
2. Shot at, and missed.
1870. From the Annals of Wy: (Read the page in Scrapebook Photos). Working for Ben Mills (and Wm Bullock) ranch on Chugwater Creek, (near present day Wheatland, possibly Slater). An April morning, while herding cattle, shot at and missed.
3. Census, Ft Laramie, August 18, 1870
Name Age Rank Occupation Birthplace
BOYD, John 30 === Laborer Ireland
4. Family Oral history:
1876. John Sr. died or left. Some family members relate a story of John Srs death: Drowned while trying to help some people across a river, during spring high water. Per E Boyd (dau): "Daddie always said his father died at 33 years old, and Daddie was 3 yo, abt 1877/8.
