I guess, the building looks a little bit like indian style (India in far East). Could be a cultural trip to Europe or far East ? Both pictures could be composed, second on the left of the first.

They could be members of a Wild West Show performing at a World Fair, maybe
1898 - The Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha, Nebraska or 1900 - The Exposition Universelle in Paris, France or 1901 - The Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, or 1904 - The Louisiana Purchase Exposition (aka St. Louis World's Fair)in St. Louis, Missouri

Sounds right. These pavilion structures were built for Fairs like these.
