In the winter of 1803 Crow and Lakota hunting-parties were both out looking for buffalo, when they ran into each other on the plains and a fight ensued. Suddenly a severe, blinding snowstorm arose, so they had to cease fighting and make camp to protect against the storm. After the storm subsided both parties were surprised to find themselves camped very close to each other. The fight was immediately resumed, but no information is known about the outcome or if there were any casualties on either side.
