Interesting to read that the Crows only sent one delegate on the trip. Did others refuse to join, did the US only request one representative from them and if so, why?
The account also reads like this Crow man was not a headman. But of course this could just be the writing style of the white reporter, who may also have been unaware of the man's standing.
In any case, fascinating puzzle. Carlo

LeRoy Hafen´s book on Thomas Fitzpatrick calls him "a Crow sub-chief, evidently a volunteer" who "had come all the way from the council" (page 305).

The man standing in the middle of the Photo gives a good example of how bandolier bags were used (swung over both shoulders with bag and powderhorn in the back) to hold up the robe(or blanket). Kurz gives a view from the back in one of his drawings.
