I found it in a 1902 newspaper. The caption misidentified them as Osage with different names. I figure this picture was taken in 1890 when they went to Washington to appeal to the Harrison administration regarding leasing rights.
Judging by the metal frame visible behind Standing Bear's shoulder which appears similar to a frame in other period photos of Poncas, I'd say it was taken either in Ponca City or Ark City.

White eagle talks to me through a medium here in the UK. He was a great man and was betrayed by the US president and his men at that time. He had to obey... The injustice he and his people suffered was terrible and now the Ponca are being poisoned by Fracking and the pollution of their land in White Eagle near Ponca City today. Why? The greed of the white man will destroy themselves and I pray that the Ponca Indian nation will be reunited very soon, for they are the TRUE landowners of their ancestral lands not the bastard white man who has no regard for the native Indians who were living on the lands long before the white man ever came. God bless White Eagle and his people.

My grandma is Stella White Eagle and I thought she had told me she was Sioux? Can someone tell me if there were two White Eagles from different tribes? She was born in Mountain View, Oklahoma in 1939. I am currently trying to get more info from her as well.

Hi I have some first hand letters relating to George "White Eagle" getting married to insure his "wife" is able to return to America with him. I think it was the son because this all happened Nov 3 1914 as Americans were frantically trying to get home from Europe via London. Do you have any info about the 101 Miller Show leaving Europe from London in 1914 or a Charlie claiming to be White Eagle marrying an english woman named Spruce or Sprucer (sic). Any info appreciated!
