This photo looks like "Tsa'l-au-te" Kiowa son of Satanta. His picture is found on page 327 of the book: "Plains Indian Raiders, by Wilbur Sturtevant Nye. Photo by William S. Soule. Photos years ago were mis-identified. From decoy1

The picture of the boy that says W.P.Bliss on the back is, I think, Tsa'l-au-te, son of Kiowa Chief Satanta, by William S. Soule. He appears on page 327 in the book: "Plains Indian Raiders" by Wilbur Sturtevant Nye, University of Oklahoma Press, 1968.

This is indeed the young Kiowa man known as Tsa'-au-te (Cry Of The Wild Goose), as identified as Gray Goose on this website.

The right side backdrop here looks the same as the right side of the backdrop above:

Hi Grahame, I´m not quite sure if the side backdrop is the same or only similar.

Black Coyote certainly was a Southern Arapaho policeman.

The Oklahoma Historical Society has this man as Chief Whirlwind, 1884. It is a mistake, or?

Hi Gregor, Dietmar has Little Bear identified in this same thread dated 30 Dec 2020 (group image), and also Koos van Oostrom did so among the series of the John K. Hillers photographs of Cheyennes and others taken in May 1875 at Okmulgee, Oklahoma Territory, see section
