Chiefs, 1904. Any more information? Who's Charlie Hogg(?) with Lonesome Charlie Reynolds? Lakota (ca. 1900): Lakota: White Deer - Brule or one of Little Chief's Cheyenne - or both? Presumably post-1891, but not by much; photo by Bauman and Fitzsimmons of Crawford, Nebraska John Hinskaka, a policeman at Cheyenne River/Cherry Creek by Johnson Brothers:

Here are a few more. Anyone know who this is? I was looking for Snell pictures on liveauctioneers and I came across the following group. One of them - the first, I think - has verso with imprint of E.B. Snell. Not all photos maked with Snell's name were his; on the same page, there's a Notman photo of Sitting Bull with Cody in a Snell mount, for example. Is it me or does this man bear a ballpark resemblance to Red Cloud? Of course, Snell was based in Kansas and the bulk of his photos I'm familiar with were of Southern Cheyenne, probably from about 1885. This one is clearly a post-1884 Scott - from the badly painted backdrop: One platinum print, taken outdoors: The fourth photo - not posted - was of a Winnebago couple

Hi Grahame, The last photo above looks Jicarilla... or Ute. Where do you find the Charlie Reynolds/Hogg one? Is it really Reynolds? Just wondering... I´m sure I´ve seen the Cheyenne in the Snell photo somewhere else. Sorry, I´ll have to look, but I´ll be away from home over the next week... too much work right now...

I believe this man is the Cheyenne Big Horse, who visited his son Hubble in Carlisle Indian School ca. in 1880 or 81 (?).

The photo of Crook(?) and Sioux was sold at Cowans Auctions. There was writing on the back of the photo that would have been good to post here also. www.cowanauctions.com/auctions/item.aspx?ItemId=34824Some do look like Isantee, it appears the gentlemen standing is wearing shoulder boards/epaulette's. Is this a group of Scouts maybe. C.W. Swift also photographed the James Younger gang after they were shot and killed. I find a Capt C.W. Swift listed on the internet. Indian Wars. His uniform was listed for sale on an internet site. www.palmettomilitary.com/americanmilitary.html

From an auction site (but not Heritage this time!): It was suggested this man was Sioux... I'm thinking maybe Shoshoni? Further west? The suggestion for this one was Dakota, which I'm more inclined to agree with. Anyone recognise him?

The text under the man with the crutch reads: "Cheif (sic) ________ Sioux Doctor"
I've tried fiddling with the image on photoshop, but can't make out the name.
Is the first photo Hollow Horn Bear?
