Josephine Waggoner / Emily Levine wrote in "Witness: A Hunkpapha Historian's Strong-Heart Song of the Lakotas", University of Nebraska Press (2013), page 294: „Struck By the Ree was known as a great medicine man … Last year (1934) his oldest son, No Heart, sometimes called Medicine Joe, died. … Struck By the Ree had three wives, all of the Hunkpaphaya band. The oldest wife, Rising Flame ….- her son was No Heart…“
