In 1909 at Earl's Court, London, there was The Golden West and American (U.S.A.) industries exhibition, to highlight the progress of 'modern' America and its various industries and products, presumably to encourage trade. One feature of the show was The Red Man Spectacle - a recreation of camp scenes, dancing and warfare, namely the Black Hawk Massacre in Colorado, which seems to be entirely fictitious! Most (all?) of the people who took part were Oglala; many, veterans of trips with Cody, like Red Shirt, Lone Bear and Painted Horse. The programme can be downloaded here: archive.org/details/goldenwestameric00earl/page/n1/mode/2up - though be warned, the language of the day is often racist and sensationalistic. Here are some photos taken from the programme... Below, is a a group of images (mostly from humanzoos.net/?page_id=10339 ) with slightly better resolution: Young Eagle, assistant interpreter The following four images are from Denver Public Library: The photos, by Gale and Polden, were on sale as postcards at the exhibition. A couple of Oglala children at the exhibition I also came across these images: ... alias Joseph Beauvais, was a Mohawk from Kahnawake. Both images are by Gale and Polden, but I suspect they were taken a couple of years later at the Coronation Exhibition in 1911, which did feature Kahnawake Iroquois This would appear to be another image of the Iroquois

Got this list of names for the big group photo... but easy to see that the order isn´t accurate, because the first three from left are Little Bull, Spotted Weasel and Many Horses. The men in this picture are: (from left to right): Red Shirt, Spotted Weasel, Little Bull, unidentified, unidentified, Painted Horse

So, was this still, in some way, affiliated with Cody? I know the show used a lot of the same Oglala, but I thought his last European tour was 1904/5
