Hi - Can anyone help identify this photo? It is labeled Curly Crow but does not look like him. On the back there is a hand drawn map by Curly Crow of battle of little big horn. Done in 1913 at The Planters Hotel in Saint Louis Mo. Signed by Erwin who was a newspaper man staying at Planters Hotel. Curly was at the hotel on this date. Also hand written authentication by David Vericon in 1951.......... Very interesting historical piece! I dont know of any other maps of the battle that he has drawn. Also a stamp on it from Missouri historical society. I wonder why is was attached to the back of this photo. Attachments:

I´m sorry, but I think the man who appeared at the Planters Hotel as "Curley the Crow" was a fraud. I got a newspaper article written in St. Louis in 1913 where he stated a lot of weird stories.
You are right of course, that the man in the photo does not look like the famous Crow scout.
...just read it was discovered in 1916, that his real name was Ben McIntosh. The state of Kansas was looking after him for his fraudulent activities.

Found two more portraits which confirm that the man in the photograph above is indeed Ben McIntosh, who also went as Sam Davis.

Dietmar, thanks! Agree not Curley. BUT, if possible may I have the information on the photos of McIntosh please...along with the images. Thanks! I have a story about him, and Curley, in White Swan's biography.
Hope all is well!
Regards, Rod...
