I found this picture of a woman who is Mi'kmaq. There are two other pictures of her but due to the fact those pictures are revealing I will not post them here. I know since she is unidentified it's possible I cannot find a name for her, but I will still ask. Here are the titles (There are two versions of the same photo) Unidentified Mi'kmaq woman, circa 1857-1859 Photo by Paul-Émile Miot. Courtesy of Archives and Special Collections Division (MF 354.01.01), Queen Elizabeth II Library, Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, NL "Femme Micmac à bord du navire Sésostris" ["Mi'kmaq (Micmac) woman on board the French naval vessel Sésostris, at the recoaling station, Sydney area, Nova Scotia"] "Femme de la tribu des Mic-macs. Terre-Neuve."["Woman of the Micmac tribe. Newfoundland."] Here are the links: www.ucs.mun.ca/~mwilks/1femme.htmlwww.ucs.mun.ca/~mwilks/pa188213.htmAnd there is a painting of her as well, this painting was done from a different photo of her. Mi'kmaq Woman, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, 19th Century- Henri Rousseau I personally have not seen Mi'kmaq people who look like her, even while searching old photos, she has a very unique look. Honestly she might be able to pass for Aboriginal Australian. I wonder why. If anyone knows who she might be, please let me know!

Hello blueskies,
I have run some searches for the picture, but it seems no one recorded the name of the Mi'kmaq Woman. At least not in internet sources. I don´t know if there exists a journal where Miot recorded more details.
