The Crow Creek Yanktonai Reservation, Kangiokute Oyanke (Raven Shooting Place) named for Kangiokute Wakpa (River where they shot Ravens). Named because they were starving at this place with only ravens to eat. Today the word Kangi (Raven) has been shortened / misinterpreted to Crow Creek (Kangicikana Wakpana). The tribal headquarters is at Fort Thompson, South Dakota within the counties of Buffalo, Hughes and Hyde on the east side of the Missouri River. Officially named the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe. Cinye80
