I am trying to access the Census rolls (and Birth/Death records) of the Pine Ridge Reservation and the Cheyenne River Reservation from 1877 to 1885. Unfortunately, it appears these have either not been digitized yet by NARA, or they are not available online. Does anyone have access to them, or know how I could consult them?

Pine RidgeAnnual Indian Census Rolls were taken at this agency for 1887, 1886-1888, 1890, 1892-1905, 1907, 1913, 1915-1939, and 1942-1943. These rolls have been microfilmed by the National Archives as part of their Microcopy Number M595, rolls 362 thru 384. You can find some census rolls here: archive.org/search.php?query=Pine+Ridge+Indian+censusThese files are not adequately named, so you have to laboriously click through the files. If I remember correctly, some census rolls were also destroyed in fires. Cheyenne RiverAnnual Indian Census Rolls were taken at this agency for 1886-1887, 1890-1892, 1894-1907, and 1909-1942. These rolls have been microfilmed by the National Archives as part of their Microcopy Number M595, rolls 33 thru 40[8]. Copies of these records are also available at the National Archives, their Regional Archives, and at the Family History Library and its family history centers (their microfilm roll numbers 574192-574199). These census rolls are also available online at Ancestry.com's subscription web site. Unfortunately I could not locate a Cheyenne River Census on Archive.org

Unfortunately, these are not the years I am looking for. I have already been through all these years, very painfully, for all 3 reservations, and extracted whatever information I could.
However, for me, critical information will come from the years 1877 to 1885. These records exist at NARA, but have either not been digitized yet or not put online.
Thanks for your feedback, anyway.

Hi Californian, Yes, it was these links that you provided that enabled me to access all the records from 1886 onwards - thank you. Unfortunately, they do not cover the period 1877 to 1885, which is what I am looking for. I have not been able to find those years online anywhere.
