Standing Buffalo Ktepi is the headline. Iapi Oaye (Dakota language newspaper) September 1, 1871 Volume 1, #5, page 4. It tells how Tatankanajin (Standing Bull) was killed in a battle with the Anniboine and Gros Ventre near the Milk River in Montana. This copy of the news paper does not match the one I have. The one I have gives more details, yet it has the same cite.

Holy Bear mentioned in this article was Pabaksa Yanktonai leader Mato Wakan, also known as Medicine Bear. He invited Standing Buffalo in June 1871 to raid the Upper Assiniboine and Gros Ventre near the Bearpaw Mountains. When Standing Buffalo declined the offer, he was accused of cowardice by Medicine Bear and the Yanktonai. So he became enraged and led a war party and charged the Assiniboines and Gros Ventre only with a coup stick and was killed.

Would be great if an actual member from the standing buff tribe would share, but the Canadian exiles only believe our way. this would be considered wrong and i get teased for doing this but i don't care. the old messages we find on paper r true just not what the wasicu wrote, only trust the Sioux narrative story's. Just remember we kept stuff from them. www.standingbuffalodakotanation.com/
