Still on the fence on this one. Certainly not for the casual reader. It’s very well written and he submits some interesting new angles at the Lakota ascendency. But I also found his use of sources lacking at times and identified a few errors that, while not detracting from the overall story, did irk me a bit. But am enjoying the book anyway, since I love reading about Lakota history. I am still only halfway through (1850s now) so will leave my final verdict until I finished it!

This one in my 'to be read' pile, but I've read his book on the Comanches which is superb.
