I'm interested in learning more about the battles between the Lakota and Crow peoples when the former tribe moved west into the Crows' traditional hunting territory in Montana and Wyoming(?)prior to the battle of Little Bigorn in 1876. Have any books or articles been written about this topic?

There is a book by Brian Keefe, Red is the Blood of Our Forefathers. Crow intertribal warfare is the topic and it is fairly new, got mine from amazon.

Have any books or articles been written about this topic? Have a look at the Intertribal Wars section of this forum. I posted on several battles or skirmishes between the Crows and Lakotas there. Am currently in the process of writing a manuscript/book about the Crow-Lakota Wars.

I finished reading Brian L. Keefe's book 'Red was the Blood of our Forefathers', which recounted varous battles fought by the Crow people. It was very interesting, especially for the fact that the authoer had access to the oral history and apparently spoke with representatives of many nations who were involved. I'm trying to find contact information for Mr. Keefe, if anyone could possibly help me with that. Thanks everyone for the good suggestions and information, as always.

Glenbow, if you send me your e-mail address by private message, and a message for Brian, I'll forward them to him. He sometimes takes a while to reply.
