ISO a translation from English to Sihasapa or Mandan? Or an older Siouxian/Powhatan Dialect? I need to find record of a man pre-'Battle of the Greasy Grass', with a name CRAWFISH or meaning "swims swiftly under the water". Perhaps in relation to either of the Chief Four Bears?? The next thing IF HUMANLY POSSIBLE will be to match it with a recorded person. This would be a way to find my ancestry. It is a thin thread. I am in deep hopes, someone here could help. Thank you.
