Indian Population in the United States and Alaska 1910 by the Bureau of the Census, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington DC 1915, 285 p.Very informative printed publication by the U.S. Census Bureau about the indigenous people's population statistics based from the 1910 census. 1910 was perhaps the low point as far as the numbers of surviving Native American peoples are concerned having dwindled from the once estimated 25 million before contact to a mere few hundred thousand. The statistics not only provide details pertaining to the numbers of what was then termed "full bloods" and "mixed bloods", but also information about language, literacy, education, wealth as well as about the reservations and so forth. The book also contains numerous maps. To a historian this publication is an essential source. Attachments:
